Lots of Lavender

Hello, if you've been following my posts you'll know that I made a book box and filled it with a variety of cards for a friend and work colleague using colours found in the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper.

This is card number four and for this one I chose to use Lots of Lavender which was free during Sale-a-bration with a spend of £45. I have to admit that I'm not using colours associated with lavender as I need to keep to the colours found in the DSP.

I used a base card of Calypso Coral; while I love lots of white space, this time I wanted a bit of a zing. The eagle eyed amongst you will also have noticed that I've used a little Crumb Cake too, which although isn't one of the DSP colours, works really well with Calypso Coral and Old Olive. It also gives a much softer stamped image.

Because I've used a coloured base card, I added a Whisper White insert for writing on. As usual I stamped inside the card and on the envelope.

Whilst this stamp set could be used for may occasions, I thought it would make a lovely thank you card this time. I know lots of people have used the watercolour pencils or write markers to colour in the image but I've stamped the colour, making it very quick to make.

I used some burlap ribbon, unfortunately not from Stampin' Up! which is a better width.

Think I'm in Love...

On my last post I showed you a card I was commissioned to make for a birthday. Well I loved it so much that I made several more cards over the following days that were based on the same design. If you need to batch make cards or need one in a hurry this is so easy and so effective whether for Christmas as here with Merry mice, which has sadly been discontinued...

to say thank you to someone, using my favourite flower stamp, Birthday Blooms,,,

or to welcome a new baby, this time with Moon Baby...

The possibilities are virtually endless!

Falling for.... Fall

A Coffee and Cards treat again. Now there is a chill in the air early morning and night time, thoughts turn to winter woollies, snuggling up in front of the fire, hot cocoa and crumpets, well mine do anyway. I love this time of year for the autumn leaves, the colours are so rich and combined looked stunning so I was delighted when it was suggested we made an Autumnal card.

Susan gave us a couple of options of design using the Vintage Leaves stamp set. She also incorporated the most gorgeous little Into the Woods embellishments and we were each able to choose the one we wanted. In fact I love them so much, they have been ordered for me today.

Rather than me explain how we made the cards, I'll post the link to Susans blog so you can see for yourself. For me, the main difference is that I used the embossed rather than debossed side. While some demonstrators prefer you to slavishly copy, we are encouraged to go "off piste" and alter the design to suit which follows the Stampin' Up ethos "Inspire, Create, Share"
